Chris Mercer

Chris Mercer is a UK-based freelance editor and journalist who has written and reported on wine for more than 10 years for a wide range of consumer and trade media. He spent almost four years as digital editor of Decanter.com up to November 2018 and was previously Decanter’s news editor across online and print. Chris realized that writing about wine could be an actual job while living in Languedoc-Roussillon in southern France after graduating with a journalism Masters's degree in the UK. He has since also completed an MSc in food policy and has a particular interest in sustainability issues. He has also been a judge at the UK’s Great Taste Awards
